This article is a unnecessary, problematic, and time consuming. There are many reasons why the “World Assembly Voting” violates the values embedded in our region. Here are some reasons why:
A. The article is an inconvenient burden to the World Assembly Delegate. The Delegate must organize an entire debate whenever a new World Assembly issue surfaces. These issues come very often, and occasionally overlap, which causes trouble to the Delegate.
B. People in our region do not often respond to these issues. There is always a low outcome of opinions in these debates. This most likely is a reflection of the overall unpopularity of these debates.
C. “World Assembly Voting” violates the values of this region. As a democratic nation, we should protect the rights of our citizens to express their opinions. This law snatches these rights of those who are in the government. They are forced to vote for whatever the majority wants.
D. Enforcing this law would be tedious and inconvenient. Every time a new World Assembly issue surfaces, the Delegate must create a forum, update the World Factbook, and make sure to plan a debate. Additionally, it must be made sure that ALL of the required goverment members voted for what decided in the debate. It is too much.
Repeal this article. It goes against what this region stands for.

I apologize for the misspelling of the “a” word. Whenever I write it, it misspells to “arseembly”. Try it yourself.

As the World Assembly delegate, I think this is a great idea. It is hard enough to organize one debate in a few days, but two or more is just too much. Also, the people should be able to express their opinions.

By the way, I fixed the Assembly auto fix thingy. It was censoring it when it wasn't the exact word.

Here's my standpoint:
A) I do not believe that debates should cover Security Counsel issues, though there should be for General Assembly issues. Thus the overlap would be eliminated.
B) Debates CAN attract people if publicized and advertised through Mass Telegrams, the Regional Message Board, etc. The Le Libertia debate had a high citizen turnout when advertised through telegrams and the Message Board. I personally feel that our current WA delegate has failed to advertise the debate beyond the World Factbook Entry, which no one hardly looks at. LET IT BE CLEAR that positions of power in this region come with a set of responsibilities.
C) As for democratic values, the only way that we as a region have any power on the international stage is if we all vote collectively. Making this argument is like saying if a president was elected with a majority of 80%, that the loser hold the office of president for 20% of the time.
D) See B.
