The inefficiency of our legislative branch in this nation is absolutely disgusting. Laws take an extremely long time to pass, and immigration polls last a full week before the nation is let into the region. This is why I will propose a new law which will help increase the efficiency of the legislators.
-1 If a majority of the region votes yes in a poll (so 6 or more people), the poll should end and the law should move into its next step.
-2 Polls should never last longer than 3 days. Because of our 3 day inactivity rule, this only makes sense. This is most appalling in the case of immigration polls, because having to wait 1 week before being let in is extremely unappealing to anyone who wants to join our region.
-3 The current way of passing laws is extremely bureaucratic and inefficient. Considering the small size of our congress, we really don't need a poll to get congress to vote. They can just comment on the thread if they support it or not, saving a lot of time and essentially skipping over a wasteful step in passing laws. When a law is proposed, it is immediately put in the propositions section and anyone can vote on it.
The technicalities of this are simple:
The law would be brought immediately to a populous vote once a congress member endorses it
The populous would vote in the poll, and Congressmembers would say if they agree with it or not in a post. If the majority of congress doesn't agree with the law, the poll will be locked and the original proposer will have to edit their law before proposing it again. If a majority of congress agrees with the law and the populous vote is in majority, the law will be passed. If there is not a majority populous vote, the law is not passed, even if there is a majority congressional vote. This would effectively remove the board "Inside the Senate" and "Legislation Referendums" as it would eliminate that process of legislation.
Please state your reasoning why you voted whichever opinion you did in the thread below.
