Large Elections should only have 1 vote rather than 2. 2 votes may skew the actual opinions of who should be president, because 1 candidate may be a lot of people's second choice, rather than just voting for the person they want most. Also, those who are running cannot vote.

I agree, why do we even need two votes?

The reason is to force candidates to vote for at least one other candidate other than themselves.

The reason is to force candidates to vote for at least one other candidate other than themselves. Why are candidates permitted to vote for themselves? It doesn't seem logical, at least to me.

I agree with this. We could just make it so people who are running in an election cannot vote in that election, or we could ban nations from voting for themselves in an election, but I feel as if that would be harder to incorporate into the voting system.

The way these forum polls work is that we can who voted, but not who voted for what. That's the problem. Otherwise, I would enforce such a rule, but there is no way to enforce such a rule.

I think we should just ban people who are running from voting altogether. This way it could stop the possible exchange of "if you vote for me ill vote for you", or "if you vote for me ill vote yes on your proposal." I think we can all agree we don't want a government of deals and favors, similar to the current state of the U.S. government.

However, you should probably revise the proposal you originally posted on this thread. After you do this, I will publicly endorse this proposition.
